About us
Ché Orika Group operates two businesses.
Ché Orika Boutique is a women's ready-to-wear fashion brand. We design, produce and sell dresses, sets, playsuits and statement pieces for women aged 20 to 35 who want to look put together without overthinking it. We sell through our website (cheorika.com), Instagram DMs, and our boutique in Gwarimpa, Abuja.
The Pattern House is our B2B manufacturing arm. We produce garments for other fashion brands and designers across Nigeria. It operates as a separate business with its own clients, brand identity and growth targets.
Both businesses are growing. Both need marketing. This role covers both.
About the role
As our Marketing and Creative Manager, you will work with the co-founder and head of marketing to be responsible for how both brands show up online and in the market.
You will plan content, create it, post it, track what works, and adjust based on what the numbers tell you. You will also support operational marketing work including ad management, campaign planning, customer communication and coordination with the rest of the team.
This is a role where you will be involved in everything from coming up with the idea to filming it, editing it, writing the caption, posting it, and then looking at the data to figure out what to do next. You will have real ownership over the work and the space to bring your own ideas.
This role is hybrid. You will work from the boutique or on location at least one day per week, though some weeks may require more depending on shoot schedules or events. Outdoor content shoots across Abuja are a regular part of the job.
What it is like working here
We are a small, close team building two businesses at the same time. The work is fast-paced and the standards are high, but the environment is supportive. You will work directly with the founder, your ideas will be heard, and when something you create does well, everyone celebrates it.
We care about doing good work and we care about the people doing it. We give honest feedback because we want everyone to get better, not because we want to find fault. If you are the kind of person who enjoys being part of something early, having a say in how things are built, and seeing the direct impact of your work, you will enjoy it here.
Key responsibilities
- Own and maintain the weekly content calendar for both Ché Orika Boutique and The Pattern House.
- Understand who our customer is, what she responds to, and what drives her to buy or enquire.
- Research trends and competitor activity, and bring ideas for what we could try.
- Plan content around product launches, promotions, seasonal moments and business goals.
- Shoot and edit short-form video content (Instagram Reels, TikTok, Stories).
- Write captions that communicate value and encourage action.
- Respond to DMs and comments during business hours.
- Support ad campaign setup and reporting alongside the founder.
- Use analytics to track what is working and report on performance.
- Coordinate with the founder on brand direction, new product drops and shoot planning.
- Document everything you do. Keep content files, brand assets and records organised and accessible.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone creative, self-directed and genuinely interested in building something.
You should have:
- At least 3 years of experience in marketing, content creation, or social media management for a fashion, lifestyle or consumer brand. Personal brand work counts if the quality and results are there.
- Strong video skills. You can shoot on a phone, edit in CapCut or similar tools, and produce content that feels intentional and well put together.
- A working understanding of analytics. You can look at post performance and explain what happened and what to try next.
- The ability to write clearly, whether that is captions, briefs, DM responses or ad copy.
- Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager or a willingness to learn it quickly.
- A base in Abuja and availability to work from the boutique or on location at least one day per week.
Nice to have:
- Experience running paid ad campaigns and interpreting the results.
- Familiarity with content planning tools and social media scheduling platforms.
The person we're looking for
The kind of person who does well here:
- Self-starting. You see what needs to be done and you get on with it. You bring ideas without waiting to be asked.
- Curious. You are always looking at what other brands are doing, what is working on social media right now, and how we could apply it. You enjoy learning and staying sharp.
- Honest. You are comfortable sharing results even when they are not great. You would rather have an honest conversation about what did not work and figure out the next move together.
- Open to feedback. We review work openly and we talk about what could be better. We do this because we want everyone to grow, and we expect the same openness in return.
- Reliable. When you say something will be done, it gets done. Shoot days, deadlines, and campaign launches all depend on everyone delivering what they committed to.
- Commercially minded. You understand that good content should move the business forward. You think about how your work connects to sales, conversations and growth.
What success looks like
You will do well in this role if:
- Content is planned ahead of time and posted consistently.
- You can show, with data, which content types are driving the most engagement and sales.
- Both Ché Orika Boutique and The Pattern House have a visible, consistent online presence.
- Content quality improves month over month as you learn from performance data.
- The founder and team trust your judgement and feel confident giving you room to run with ideas.
